Hardened Tool Rest for MIDI lathes

The tool rest or tool support from CARP. No more imperfections in your finish, as the tool rest always has a smooth top surface. These straight tool rests are made in 2 lengths: 15 and 25 cm. Absolutely vibration-free. The 12 mm round bar is hardened to 62 HRC and glued onto a 10 mm thick flat steel plate.
Hardened
CARP's tool rests always have a hardened top surface. Just as hard as your tool (62 HRC), so no dents will form in the surface. The tool always slides smoothly over it—a significant advantage!
MIDI
These tool rests are specially designed for use on MIDI lathes. A minimum height of 45 mm is required between the top of the tool rest holder (banjo) and the center.
If you have more clearance above the tool rest holder, consider using these 1-inch tool rests or these 30 mm tool rests.
Technical Details
The hardened round bar of CARP's tool rests is glued into a thick steel plate. To maximize the contact surface between the two components, a groove with the same diameter as the hardened bar is milled into the steel plate. Two or four bolts secure the bar into the adhesive. It will never come loose. Since nothing is welded, the round bar maintains a consistent hardness of 62 HRC throughout.
Dimensions
The shaft of the tool rests (the part that fits into the tool rest holder aka banjo) is 1 inch (25.4 mm). The available lengths (horizontal) are 15 and 25 cm. (Select in the drop-down menu.)
