Japanese saw Ryoba - Suizan SR 002 H
Suizan Ryoba Japanese Pull Saw for Hardwood – 21 cm
This Japanese Ryoba pull saw has been specially designed for cutting hardwoods and broadleaf woods such as oak, walnut, maple and hickory. The geometry of the blade reduces resistance in tough wood fibres, allowing the saw to cut smoothly without binding easily.
The blade is only 0.5 mm thick, enabling very fine and clean cuts. Because a Japanese saw cuts on the pull stroke, less force is required and the thin blade remains stable.
Double-edged Ryoba blade
A Ryoba has teeth on both edges of the blade:
- One edge for rip cuts: cutting along the grain
- One edge for crosscuts: cutting across the grain
This makes the saw suitable for a wide range of applications, from general sawing to accurately making joints such as dovetails.
Designed for hardwood
The blade is made from high-quality Japanese carbon steel. It combines extremely sharp teeth with excellent wear resistance and is optimized for cutting hard woods.
Non-slip handle
The handle has a textured elastomer surface. This provides a firm and comfortable grip, even when your hands are damp. The handle offers excellent control and makes accurate sawing easier.
The saw is manufactured entirely in Japan, in a region with a long tradition of metalworking.
